A self taught
artist, Andreas chose Watercolors as his favorite medium to paint his visions.
They most fit his purpose to combine looseness and freedom of colors with the
kind-of-photo-realistic look in his paintings - most of all in his portraits.
There is nothing in art more transparent - though permanent - than pure pigment on white ground.
He says
of himself to be "painfully inspired" and sometimes really does show
signs of pain to people surrounding him - like staying awake all night working
on a painting and sketching a new drawing for a new one that is already gaining
